Chad Oberholtzer attended Calvary as a Penn State student near the turn of the millennium, left town for the oppressive heat and scrumptious BBQ of Texas, and returned to Happy Valley two years later when wife, Kate, came on Calvary staff as worship and arts ministry leader for over six years. After transitioning away from that staff role, Kate continues in her role as a worship leader at Calvary Classic is now the mother of our daughter, Julia. During the past nine years, Chad joined staff in a part-time role that began with Life Groups, adding First Impressions ministries, and special events planner (i.e. Fall Fest, Men's Golf Tournament), culminating in his most recent role as Traditions Gathering Pastor. Throughout many of those years, Chad pursued a Master of Divinity degree through the InMinistry program at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN, graduating in June of 2011. He was thrilled to be ordained by Calvary and the State College CityChurch several weeks after graduation and continues to treasure the privilege of worshiping God, loving so many dear friends, and serving others along with the Traditions family.
