Art and Dorothy are Converge Worldwide missionaries leading the HIV/AIDS prevention
effort in Taraba State, Nigeria by establishing the Gembu Centre for HIV/AIDS Advocacy
Nigeria (GECHAAN). This is known as a faith-based NGO (None Government Organization). Using
a comprehensive approach their ministry is multifaceted addressing HIV/AIDS in terms of,
awareness and prevention by speaking to community leaders, churches, mosques, schools, and
the civil servants about HIV/AUDS and how it is passed from one person to another.
Currently GECHAAN is providing services about the virus in terms of a clinic operating a mobile
HIV testing crew, providing counseling, treatment of over 2000 people with antiretroviral
drugs, providing 2550 orphans in 1670 foster care homes with food, education, shelter, medical
service and loving care. In addition there are support groups set us for persons in the treatment
program, young couples Be Faithful small groups are being set up, sexual abstinence clubs
are created in high schools, skill acquisition classes are functioning, the Voices of Hope radio
broadcast airs every Saturday morning, providing computer prep classes for youth preparing
to attend university, and providing homes for grandmothers who are caring for their orphaned
grandchildren.

mounting challenges associated with this dreadful disease.
