Mike, who attended Calvary as a Penn State student, has been working as Campus Pioneer/Director at Melbourne University with Campus Crusade for Christ since February 2004. He was joined in ministry by his wife, Becky, shortly after they married in November 2005. Only 5% of Australians attend church, with only 2-3% of the population counted as true believers. The Melbourne culture is highly consumeristic and post-modern with high numbers turning to alternative religions or away from religion all together. It is common to find that people have distorted views of Christianity and know very little about the reality of who Jesus Christ is and what his claims are. As Mike's 4th full university year in Melbourne is wrapping up (university year runs Feb - Nov), Mike and Bec are praying about taking on a city/state-wide leadership role. This means their scope expands to every university student in the entire state of Victoria. They have been focusing on giving every Melbourne Uni student attractive and real chances to respond to the gospel through building a healthy full-time staff team as well as a healthy student leadership team. The student team focuses on reaching their lost friends and fellow students all year long. Their vision is to see movements of multiplying disciples raised up all across the state among Aussie young adults and university students.
